Evening Comes to the Bosque

Spring Shearing

Before. Fat and happy in the warm sunshine.

During. Alyssa gets a turn with the shears for her 4-H fiber project. Kat finshes up goat #2 while Deanna sorts out some 2nd cuts.


After. The whole herd (all 4 of them!) was done in a record 2 hours thanks to Kat's electric shears. The next day the early morning temps went back down to mid-30's so the poor nekkid goaties are catching all the warmth they can.

Spring on the Bosque

Spring comes gradually to the river. First we see the trees blooming out on the boulevard, a mile and a half to the east. Then day by day we watch as the blossoms gradually work their way toward the river. Finally the trees here burst into flowers, and Spring is here.
